What is FAA?

FAA stands for Fish Amino Acids. It is a KNF input made by fermenting fish scraps with brown sugar so the fish breaks down into a concentrated nitrogen-rich liquid.

FAA starts with clean fish scraps or small fish mixed with brown sugar in a clean container. The sugar pulls liquid from the fish and helps preserve the ferment while microbes slowly break it down.

The container is covered with cloth, paper, or a loose breathable lid, not sealed airtight. This protects the ferment while allowing gas to escape safely.

In simple language: you preserve fish with brown sugar, let it slowly ferment, then strain and store the dark amino-rich liquid for diluted plant use.

Success depends on clean fish, correct 1:1 weighing, enough sugar cover, patient fermentation, good smell, no foul rot, and conservative dilution.
